Revive Solutions
Building management tools for new generation Automated External Defibrillators.
Role: Product Design & Analytics Intern
Time: 11 weeks
Responsibilities: UX research, ideation, prototyping, data analysis & visualization
01 Background
Revive develops next generation Automated External Defibrillators, seeking to increase survival rates from Sudden Cardiac Arrest by prioritizing accessibility, empowerment, and alliance between potential responders. Walking into a growing startup preparing for their product launch, I was launched into an incredibly fast-paced, dynamic space with many unanswered questions and plenty of room to iterate and create.
02 What I did
For 11 weeks, I had the opportunity to be a Product Design & Analytics intern at San Francisco. I worked primarily on an AED fleet management platform - the world’s first online management system for AED devices. I developed responsive wireframes, usability testing procedures, site maps, user flows and prototypes, as well as build information architecture for the platform’s data management and visualization. In collaboration with marketing specialists and engineers, I also conducted user research, competitive analysis, and aligned with stakeholders across teams to ideate and define opportunities for the company’s pilot gamified loyalty program.
How might we simplify and automate AED maintenance for mass device deployment? How might we transform typically mundane tasks (maintenance) into delightful experiences? AED maintenance is often overlooked and ignored, despite being crucial for emergency SCA rescue.
Additionally, I also led a market validation analytics project - surveying thousands of school nurses to explore AED awareness & application in US schools. I analyzed categorical and text data for correlations and developed sentiment analysis models. This was my first end-to-end data analytics project, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to gain deeper industry insight regarding AEDs in education, validate user needs, and draw new marketing opportunities for the company.
